Youth Programs
Program Content:
Archery is an excellent sport for children to participate in. Our JOAD program was developed to provide
our youth with a safe, disciplined archery training program. JOAD not only teaches the fundamentals of
archery but also promotes the fun and enjoyment of the sport.
1) Commands which dictate the flow of archers during their class instructions and in other
archery shooting environments.
2) Safety rules that need to be followed during class instruction or in any indoor archery shooting
environment.
3) Backyard safety rules when shooting outside at home or in other outdoor archery shooting
environments.
Students are assigned classes based on age, student expertise and class availability.
Saturdays: 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM
Saturdays: 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM
Saturdays: 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM
Wednesdays: 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM
Note: Our JOAD Program is not available to children under the age of 9 years old.
Basic Archery Forms:
Stance, Anchor, Nock, Aim, Set, Release, Pre-Draw, Follow Through, and Sight
In addition to the safety rules and basic forms, our JOAD Program also teaches the student scoring
rules, and focuses on the qualities of good sportsmanship.
Class Schedule:
Before a student can begin weekly lessons, he/she must attend a 45 minute JOAD Introduction Class.
The Introduction Class involves a review of safety rules, equipment fit-up and basic forms involved in
the sport of archery. This session is scheduled either in the evening during the week or on Saturday
afternoons following our regular JOAD classes.
Introduction Class:
First 6 Week Session with use of Tepee Equipment $100.00
First 6 Week Session with student’s own equipment $90.00
NOTE: All new students using Tepee equipment are required to purchase their own arm guard
and finger tab. The total cost of this equipment is $20.00. No student will be allowed to shoot on
the range without this equipment.
Initial Program Cost:
Renewing student with use of Tepee equipment $85.00
Renewing student with own equipment $75.00
It is recommended that all students register annually for NAA membership while they are enrolled in
JOAD. Applications are available at Tepee.
Continuing 6 Week Sessions:
It is highly recommended that students spend a minimum of 1 to 2 hours per week practicing their
shooting techniques. Upon enrollment in the JOAD Program, all students are given a Tepee JOAD
Card. The card entitles the student to 4 hours of free range time and equipment rental per 6 week
session. Students also receive a 5% discount on all archery accessories purchased at Tepee.
Equipment must be for the student's personal use. It is required that all students who use Tepee
equipment purchase their own Arm Guard and Finger Tab. Students will not be allowed to shoot
without these items.
Free Range Time & Product Discounts:
Because JOAD classes are run on continuing six-week sessions, students may enroll at any time. To
enroll your child today, simply fill out a JOAD application (Click for Application) and submit it with the
appropriate enrollment fee.
You may also contact Eileen Kelly at (978) 877-2710 and complete the enrollment process over the
